Results of the competition “The Holocaust and the Greek Jews”

On Tuesday 5th March 2019 the results of the competition “The Holocaust and the Greek Jews” were announced, according to the assessment of the relevant committee. The winners of the competition which is conducted by the General Secretariat for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs in co-operation with the Jewish Museum of Greece, will take part in a special training programme organised by the Jewish Museum of Greece which includes an educational visit to the Auschwitz Museum.

During school year 2018-2019, there were 108 valid entries from 37 schools of the Regional Directorates of Attica and Central Macedonia and the Secondary Education Directorates of Trikala, Arcadia, Arta and Crete.

Five prizes will be awarded to the students of the 7th General Senior High School of N. Smyrni in Athens, the 3rd General Senior High School of Chania in Crete, the 14th General Senior High School of Thessaloniki,  the 2nd General Senior High School of Kalyvia, Attica and the 9th General Senior High School of Athens. Additionally, 29 honourary awards will be awarded to equal schools. Altogether, 120 First and Second class Senior High School students will take part in the training programme which will be completed with the debriefing meeting that will be held at the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs.
